UNK High School Invite - With nearly 300 Class D runners competing on a hot day, you could say it was a big meet which gave us Bobcats a chance to feel what State Cross Country will feel like. With one more meet next week and Districts the week after, I really hoped that getting to Kearney this week would give these kids the exposure they need to be able to envision getting back down there, with the understanding that small schools have fast runners too.
We were led again by Keltyn Kirchhoff who finished 54th overall with a time of 20:07. Grady Bresson came in next for the Bobcats at 119th and a time of 21:47.8 while Caleb Black finished with a time of 23:25.21 and Troy Kallhoff 25:35.37. Kyler Sladek finished just under the 30-minute mark with a time of 29:58.8. These were not our best times and not everyone was feeling 100%. We now have 10 days off before we finish our regular season at McCool on Oct. 5 where we plan to wear our pink laces from the boosters and run for our loved ones who have fought cancer. Districts will be at the Cass County Fair Grounds on Oct 12 at 4:00 PM.
